Kike Hernandez Signs with Boston Red Sox

According to Mark Feinsand, World Series-winning utility man Kike Hernandez has signed a multi-year pact with the Boston Red Sox.

Hernandez is a true utility-player, covering every position except catcher in his career, and has built a reputation as a defensive specialist. Last season Hernandez ranked fourth in the NL with a 0.9 defensive WAR, and he’s posted a 98.0% fielding percentage across all positions throughout his career.  Hernandez showed limited offensive upside last season, posting a .270 on-base percentage and .410 slugging percentage, both of which are below career averages.

The Bo Sox need all the help they can get as they finished last in the AL East last season and allowed an AL worst 351 runs in the abbreviated season. They are currently priced at +4500 on the World Series futures board at FanDuel Sportsbook.
