Kyle Schwarber to sign with Nationals

Nationals to sign Kyle Schwarber. The contract is for one-year and $10 million. It is expected that Schwarber will play left-field for the Nats, and Juan Soto will be in right. Schwarber will provide the Nationals with another powerful left-handed bat in their lineup to go along with Soto and the recently acquired Josh Bell. If the universal designated hitter were to come to the National League this season, it is expected that Schwarber would serve in that role full-time as defense is not his forte.

Schwarber batted .188 last season with 11 home runs and drove in 24 runs. His best season came in 2019 when he hit 38 HRs, batted .250, and drove in 92 runs. With Schwarber now on the team, the Nationals are +2900 to win the World Series.
